Regardless of your preference, each of these devices may require some configuration to ensure that your room displays are always ready to be utilized. After adding a room display, check out the recommendations below to best optimize your room display devices.

Configuring iOS Settings for Room Displays

When using an iOS device for your room display, there are a few settings that you can configure to prevent your device from being disturbed and locked into the Room Display app.

Guided Access Mode
Additional Settings

Guided Access Mode

By putting your iOS device in Guided Access Mode, you can keep the device locked into the Room Display App. This mode also disables physical buttons and pop-up notifications.

To learn how to put your device in Guided Access Mode, check out the iPad User Guide.

With Guided Access Mode, OfficeSpace has a few recommendations to make the best use of the feature:

  • Turn on the Accessibility Shortcut during Guided Access sessions
  • Set up a Guided Access Passcode, which will need to be used to end the Guided Access session
  • In Options, ensure that Touch and Volume are disabled

Additional Settings

If you want to keep the OfficeSpace Room Display app visible at all times, you can disable the auto-lock settings. Depending on the model of your device, this can be accomplished in the Display and Brightness settings. Refer to the help guide for your device for instructions on disabling the auto-lock feature.

Additionally, the screen on a room display device will automatically dim after five minutes of inactivity. This is a built-in setting of the OfficeSpace Room Booking app and cannot be disabled.

We also recommend that you limit the other functions of the device as much as possible to prevent interference with your WiFi or the OfficeSpace Room Display app and to help preserve the device’s battery life.

It is recommended that the following settings are turned off:

  • Auto software updates
  • Bluetooth
  • Ask to Join WiFi Networks
  • iCloud
  • Siri
